Camshaft Sensor Crank But No Start

Hi sarah the code points to a problem with the camshaft circuit.

Camshaft sensor crank but no start.

And still has bad camshaft sensor code. When the crankshaft sensor is not receiving power the engine will crank but not start. Then i found the crankshaft sensor and replaced it without any problems and now the engine won t fire. Was driving when it first cut off and no noise just the oil light before it died.

Spent all day trying to get it to run even cleaned all connectors and disconnected the battery. A failed sensor means no monitoring for the crankshaft position. Also make sure the circuit and connections to the sensors are good. Cranks but wont start.

The camshaft position sensor gathers information about the vehicle s camshaft speed and sends it to the vehicle s engine control module ecm the ecm uses this data to determine the timing of the ignition as well as the timing of the fuel injection that the engine requires. When i drive suddenly car engine of and try start not starting fuel plug crank sensor is working but camft sensor not working because of iwant to kwow that camft sensor is bad engine start not working this my question. Also there could be a problem with a sensor crankshaft camshaft sensor communicating with the computer. Replaced both and still want start.

Had bad crankshaft and camshaft sensor codes. Two of the main sensors for the engine are the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. Dan ferrell author on may 18 2018. Car will crank but not turn over.

1st though i pulled out the camshaft sensor and thought that was it. Car was running fine and quit running while driving. I replaced cam sensor oil sensor and engine coil. Download for possible pending trouble codes.

Possible causes for the sensor not receiving power include a blown fuse frayed wire a faulty powertrain control module and a bad ground or loose connection. My 2000 ford explorer cranks but wont start. Ultimately the juddering can affect the engine power and mess with the recording of mileage. The majority of modern vehicles have sensors in them which transmit information to the engine.

If either one of these were to malfunction then the engine would not be able to start. It causes the engine to start vibrating heavily. Without this information the engine would not be able to function properly. Joe m on april 06 2020.
