Canon 6d Shutter Speed Increments

Shutter speed display the shutter speeds from 8000 to 4 indicate the denominator of the fractional shutter speed.

Most digital cameras let you control shutter speed and aperture in 1 3 1 2 and full stop increments. Available range varies by shooting mode. If set to iso this lets the 6d change a manually set iso if needed to get a correct exposure in any of the auto exposure modes. Or higher for 50 60 fps depending on the frame rate.

25600 in 1 3 stop increments. On if you turn bracketing on the setting will not be permanent it will turn itself off when you turn off the camera. 1 4000 to 30 sec x sync at 1 180 sec. As indicated below the iso speed will be set automatically to suit the shooting mode.

At the minimum for 24 25 30 fps or 1 60 sec. At the maximum and to 1 30 sec. 1 3 stop this will allow adjusting the exposure in 1 3 or 1 2 increments. Most cameras come with 1 3rd stop increments as the default setting and a very large number of photographers never stray from it.

I prefer 1 3 increments. 30 1 4000 sec 1 2 or 1 3 stop increments bulb total shutter speed range. The shutter speed signal accumulation time is limited to 1 4000 sec. A indicates iso auto.
