We just purchased a new landmark 365 charleston with 2 awnings that auto retract extract.
Care free electric awnings arms not locking after retracting.
Mine does that as well the top of the forward arm doesn t quite seat so i get in the truck bed and smack it into position.
There can be an obstruction in the arms or rust build up on the strut.
Realign the rv awning arms and make sure they stay in their position.
The first time we went to use it after 5 days of travel i saw it had already come free at the front about 4 and 2 at the rear.
These tend to go out quite often and will need replacing.
Prolonged use or in and out several times in a row can cause the motor to temporarily shut down.
Another reason your awning in not retracting good could be the screws on the awning chord.
If this is hard to do it could be the strut.
Do not use in strong wind rain hail or snow.
Lastly it could be the gears in the motor housing.
Check your owners manual for instructions on manually retracting your awning until you have received the necessary replacement parts nbsp.
The unit should begin to operate again.
Awning not lining up straight when retracting.
We recommend that patio awnings be and remain retracted in wind speeds of 20 mph or greater.
Automatic retractable awnings will use electric sensors to know when to extend or retract the awning.
Your awning motor has a built in thermal override to prevent overheating.
If it needs replacing then get that done at the earliest.
This chord should not move you need to keep it intact in its position.
If it does not then you need to look for your electric awnings wiring and motor.
Usually the clicking are the gears skipping.
On this particular model during the walk through the tech did not show us the extract retract process so i do not know if this is a normal noise or not.
Change polarities of the battery connection to the wire and see it retract or extends.
Let the motor cool down for 10 to 15 minutes and then try the remote again.
No noise was made on the models we checked out during the buying process.
Next connect the awning end of the wiring to the battery supply and see if the motor runs and operates it.
Is it the result of the awning not rolling up centered or is one of the arms out of alignment.
Do not allow twigs or leaves or any other solid debris to be rolled up in the awning.
You also need to check the awning chord that is placed along with the screws on the awning rail.
If independent power does not turn it on then you have a failed nbsp carefree motor and it will need replacing.
Issue with awning wiring.
If it works off of independent power then it s the wiring or the switch.
Could be a bad strut that is hard to collapse grab the awning while out and try pushing in by hand.
